Michael Maszy is the Managing Partner and Founder of Silverback Ventures. He is an experienced operations executive, director and advisor with a track record of scaling innovative high-growth medical technology companies. Previously, Mike served as Senior Vice President of Operations at Shockwave Medical (NASDAQ: SWAV), where he was a key member of the executive team that led the company through its IPO, scaled operations from $12M revenue to $1B+ and was acquired by Johnson & Johnson for $13.1B. Before Shockwave, Mike was VP of Manufacturing at Endologix (NASDAQ: ELGX) and TriVascular (NASDAQ: TRIV), where he led operations, manufacturing turnarounds and complex post-merger integrations. His foundational leadership experience includes a decade-long tenure at Medtronic, where he managed product development teams, lean transformations and manufacturing transfers that delivered tens of millions in tax and operational savings. Beyond his operational roles, Mike currently serves on several boards and acts as an advisor and consultant to private equity and venture capital firms. He is on the Advisory Board of Norman Noble and Chairs the Life Science & MedTech group at Band of Angels, the first high-tech angel investment group. Mike holds an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School and both an M.S. and B.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the University of Florida. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt and holds certifications in Private Company Governance and Private Equity.
