v.e.t. (Veteran to executive training) Program

Allowing military veterans to serve their country in a new way

Our program is established and has already successfully placed veterans into our partner companies.

Contact us if you're interested in becoming part of Fox Three's growing network of V.E.T. Program executives.

The mission of the V.E.T. Program is to place qualified military veterans into executive positions in Fox Three’s partner companies. This allows veterans to serve their country in a new way: by contributing to the success of small businesses and the economic stability of their employees.

The ideal veteran profile is someone who is approximately 6-12 months from separating from the military, or is recently separated from the military but currently employed. This allows the veteran to have an income stream while Fox Three helps them source and close the deal. Upon acceptance into the V.E.T. Program, the veteran will go through training on (1) how to evaluate companies and (2) business skills that we assess many veterans lack (financial, accounting, sales, etc).

Pre-close, Fox Three will do most of the "heavy lifting" by providing sourcing and transaction support, and funding.

Post-close, the veteran will take an executive position within the company, often CEO or President. The Fox Three team and network will provide significant board level support to continue to train the veteran to learn how to implement the JETS (Joint Execution of Tactics and Strategy) Business
Operating System.

We designed the V.E.T. Program with 2 main goals in mind:
  1. Leverage the unique skillset of military veterans to grow small businesses, which are the core of America's economy. The transition for many veterans is tough because many in the business world don't fully appreciate how a veteran's skillset applies to civilian jobs. Fox Three has a deep understanding of this and what it takes to make veterans successful in leadership positions in the business world
  2. Provide an unmatched career opportunity to those who have been willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for our country

Core tenets of the V.E.T. Program

  • We believe all branches and communities within the military can produce successful leaders
  • We are a veteran-led firm, so we clearly respect veterans and their service to our country. However, you don't get a free pass just because you served - we don't believe in "Veteran Handouts." You have to continue to "earn your stripes" in the business world just like you did in the military. But unlike the military, time-in-rank doesn’t matter... results are the only thing that matters. If you listen to us, work hard, and never give up, we will ensure you not only succeed, but do so at an extremely accelerated pace
  • Most veterans possess many highly sought after skills that apply directly to executive leadership in the business world. However, there are skills gaps that veterans need to fill in. This can be partially done through an MBA, but as all veterans know, there's a big different between simulation (an MBA) and the real thing (the real business world).

Required V.E.T. Program applicant attributes

These are "must-have" attributes that we believe are essential for success.

  • Relentless persistence and orientation towards action
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Must be coachable and want to learn from Fox Three and our network of advisors and mentors - even Warren Buffet learns something new every day. No "know it alls"
  • Intense desire to be part of a team - no lone wolves
  • Embodies Fox Three's core values: Discipline. Integrity. Commitment
  • "Can-do" attitude, track record of success
  • An aptitude for identifying untapped, value-creation opportunities
  • The desire to work hard, have fun and succeed - all at the same time

Desired V.E.T. Program applicant attributes

These are attributes that are "nice to have" or "icing on the cake" but by no means disqualify veterans that don't possess them.
  • Some (even if minimal), business experience
  • MBA or business-oriented college degree
  • Financial planing and budgeting experience within the military
